Learning HTML

Hello world!

In the past I have tried to make my own websites by hand. I started out with a Dutch profile website. It was a site which you could make your own profile with some HTML tags. I loved it. Loved adding pictures, writhing stupid stuff and adding people as friends. My love for making website was born there.

At that time we only had one school that was trying to teach kids to make websites. I applied but was refused! I was really sad but I turned to sites like Joomla! and other cms. Joomla! was fun but after a while I started neglecting the page and I removed it. Now I have a Dutch cms for my webshop in yarn. It is really easy to use. But I still want more. I want to be able to make something from scratch.

So I asked some of my friends and they told me to take a look at the website EDX. They offer over 1600 of free to follow online courses from 100+ leading institutions including Harvard, MIT, Microsoft, and more.
About an hour or 2 ago(of me writhing this) I started with the HTML5 and CSS course. A lot of the things they are saying is still the same as 15 years ago when I was playing around with the profile site.

This is what I made in so little time:

Small piece of HTML

Im sorry for the Dutch language in the picture and that you might not be able to read it.
I know its far from purrrfect (blurry image and all that) but I still like it. I hope I can keep it up And maybe someday I can make my own page.

Day 2 writing HTML

On day two I started to use an other editor. The one in the picture above was nice but when I found out about codepen, I started using that one. It is also free to use, even without an account. I did sign up, cuz I wanted to share this with you guys:
